TEAM MIDLAND RACING - Time Trial Series

2009 Series – Approved List

For 2009, the time trial series will use roughly the same format as the last couple of years. It works, so why change it? There will be a total of 31 events, of which 30 will count for points and BAR. Event 1 is ‘Peachy’s Ball Breaker’ with a max gear of 72”. All events will be based on the K26 course and start at the A45/A452 Stonebridge island slip road. There will be Thursday evening '10's right through the season and as a minor calendar alteration there will be just one Sunday event per month, alternating between a '15.5' or a '25'. The courses can be described as 'sporting'.

Pete DeGaffa uses some vague form of Reverse Cartesian Logic to allocate riders into one of three groupings. Points are awarded for position relative to those in the same group with 20 points for first, 19 for second etc. Within each group there’s also a BAR competition. Additionally, there’s a league for all vets against the VTTA Standards and that’s based of cumulative +/- times.

In case there happens to be any roadworks on the main part of the course (we understand there is a new traffic island possibly being constructed near the lorry park/Mercedes garage) there is an emergency course listed for each event. Details below. Yes, it’s just a ‘10’ but at least we’ll get a race in.

Please note that, due to constraints on numbers The Management have to reserve the right to restrict private trails.

Also, for safety reasons please DO NOT park in the layby between Hampton island and the farm/bridge on Thursday evenings. Instead, please park at/near the finish (but keep off the grass).

The list also includes the other TMR activities throughout the year such as track sessions and specifically targeted events.

Update 31 March 2009 – due to roadworks on the dual carriageway, the decision has been made to revert all events to the 10 mile temporary course until either the works are complete, or the position changes.

AT START. BE AWARE AT ALL TIMES OF VEHICLES PARKED IN LAYBY, THEY MAY MOVE OFF. FOR ALL DISTANCE’S TAKE CARE AT STONEBIDGE ISLAND IT’S LESS THAN 30 YARDS AFTER START.

15.5 & 25. TAKE CARE AT ALL ISLANDS. IN HAMPTON IN ARDEN BE AWARE OF PARKED VEHICLES OUTSIDE THE NEWSAGENTS, CHURCH AND VOLVO DEALERSHIP, AND AT ALL TIMES BE AWARE OF OTHER ROAD USERS

FINISH. IN THE 10s & 3.72 AFTER YOU HAVE FINISHED AND BEFORE YOU TURN TO RETURN TO FINISH/START AREA PLEASE STOP AND MAKE SURE IT IS SAFE TO DO SO. IN THE 15.5 & 25s IT IS SUGGESTED THAT YOU STOP DISMOUNT AND WALK BACK ON GRASS VERGE TO FINISH AREA.
